“After looking through countless websites and  profiles I came across Studio Sequoia on Yelp. I read the reviews and then checked out the website. Not only were their photo samples awesome but their prices were within my means. It was too good to be true and I didn’t think I had much of a chance booking them, being as San Diego is like the wedding capital. I wrote an email and to my surprise I got an email response back from Kelley & Kim!! They were so awesome, friendly and understanding! They agreed to work with me and to plan around my tentative wedding date as I wasn’t sure when my marine was coming home. In the end the big day got moved to a different day and they were still able to accommodate!”      Eve and Daniel

“In the months following our engagement, my fiancé and I had a hard time finding a photographer that was in our price range but also the style we wanted. Studio Sequoia was the first and only studio whose style we BOTH liked, and lucky us the price tag was way less than we expected after seeing all these San Diego businesses pitching $3000 for one day of photo coverage and a selection of 100 photos. I was getting distressed about the thought of a $200 amateur botch-job or asking a family member to take pictures instead of partying with us on our wedding day. While shopping around, I saw in the reviews that Studio Sequoia gives you all the raw images (and hundreds of edited photos) — a huge selling point for us. I decided to email, and once I found out our date was still open, I gave them a call.Kelley and I ended up talking for a good hour or two, going over all the general details of the wedding and our budget. When we met up, Kelley jotted down all of our ideas in her notebook, not letting any slip away. After our engagement shoot (which lasted all of a sunday morning), we went to lunch and could not stop going on about how much fun it was! And then we saw the pictures starting to roll out. Our family and friends loved seeing a few new ones every day on their facebook news feeds, we got so many raving compliments! If you want stoic glamour shots, don’t go with Studio Sequoia. They like to have way too much FUN for that (though, they will do stoic shots for you, you’ll just involuntarily smile). They will capture your memories with their expertise and experience. The ladies of Studio Sequoia know how to keep each shoot personal and intimate, just like real life. Our wedding was romantic, pleasant, exciting, and fun, and Kim and Kelley were there grinning in the background creating magic with lenses and pixels. You might only do a wedding once, but your vendors see a wedding every weekend, and they know about every little thing that goes into a day, even stuff you haven’t thought of or considered. Throughout the planning process, Kim and Kelley were indispensable, giving us all kinds of recommendations for other vendors, and not to mention much needed moral support. Our wedding really wouldn’t have happened without all their help! Check out their portfolio and take a chance on the most down-to-earth photographers you’ll ever meet!”    Danielle

“The thing with Kim and Kelley is that they are very passionate people. When you meet them you’ll be able to tell that they don’t do this to get rich, they do it because they love it. They are a straight-froward, down to earth, no-frills type of team. They are sincere and genuine people, but they sure do mean business… during my chance to work with them I felt like they were family (and they still are). No problem was too big for them and no idea was wasted. They really pushed me to stay on top of my own wedding, but they gave me enough flexibility to incorporate the ideas I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. If you’re hesitant, please meet with them.  They will blow your socks off.”   Cuong

“Where to start?! These two ladies truly made this one incredible and unforgettable experience. My fiancee and were looking to do engagement photos, and after reading the reviews on here, and seeing some of their sample work on their site, I decided to contact them and try to arrange session. Right off the bat, they were very responsive through email, and seemed as excited about the shoot as we were. They asked us questions about what defined our relationship and what kind of setting we were looking for in our photos. With the brief descriptions I gave, they described to us what sounded like a scenario and setting too good to be true. But when it came time for the shoot, it went beyond all expectations. I’ll get to that in a second though. Kelley was the one who were were in direct contact with, and leading up to our photo day, she provided constant excitement and enthusiasm, along with several great clothing recommendations as neither of us are exactly fashionistas, and didn’t know what exactly to wear. Beyond that, she was even willing to meet up with us to go along for a day of shopping to help us pick things out. Just a small example of how passionate they are about their work, and how caring they are to make this experience perfect for their customers.

When the photo day rolled around, we were both extremely excited, but still hesitant not knowing just what to expect. After all, through email, we had been painted this glorified picture of the perfect engagement picture shoot, with what seemed like two fun loving people. Soon as they pulled up and began unloading props, we knew we were in for a good time. They set us up on an incredible cliff overlooking the ocean with train tracks, and a train that came by, a beach down below for beach pictures, and later sunset pictures back on the cliff. Along with the incredible location, Kelley and Kim kept us laughing and smiling the whole time, and we never once felt uncomfortable. In fact by the end, it felt like we had asked two of our friends to take the pictures. All in all in, it was a really great experience.

The important part, as i’m sure you all are wondering (if you read this far, which I hope you did) are the results. The pictures are absolutely incredible! Every single one of them is worthy of being on the wall, and some are truly just works of art that I would hang on my wall even if we weren’t in them. Visit their facebook page and look at the album “Tony and Megan” to see for yourself. Our parents and friends were blown away by the quality of the pictures, and how amazing they turned out. We were so pleased in fact that we are now highly considering flying them out to Indiana for our wedding in 2014, and based on their terrific pricing it is definitely a very good possibility. To finish up, Megan and I just want to say, thank you so much Kelley and Kim for making one memorable moment and for pictures we will always treasure. We will definitely keep in contact with you guys, and hopefully we can arrange to see you guys again in 2014!”     Tony and Megan

“Kelley and Kim (and thier intern) did our engagement and wedding pictures and we couldn’t be happier.  We got SOO many pictures that we love and Kelley and Kim  were a delight to work with throughout the process.  Beyond thier obvious talent as photographers, thier enthusiam made the experience so great for us and our wedding guests.  On a more practical note: very very reasonably priced and responsive to calls/emails.  My husband and I seriously congratulate each other for finding such awesome photographers.  Highly, highy recommend!” Lauren and Adam

“When I started looking for engagement photographers, I had no idea where to start. When I got my first email back from Kelley, I knew she and Kim were the perfect ones. We emailed back and forth with idea, she made a pinterest board for us, found amazing ideas, and offered awesome opinions. I knew that we weren’t just a client, she was willing to bring props, make signs, and even bake heart shaped chocolate chip cookies. At the shoot we had so much fun! I didn’t feel awkward at all, and they both did their best to follow exactly what I wanted. We laughed, and we had a BLAST! It only took 2 hours, and it was CHEAP! By cheap, I mean I think I pretty much stole from them for how much I got for the money I paid.

And lastly, the photos. In-Cred-I-Ble! There were hundreds of them, and the editing they did was fantastic. Kim got amazing detailed pictures that I didn’t even know she took while we were there. The bestest part was they kept putting them up on facebook, so each day I could go see more pictures, starting the very night we took them! I would recommend these girls to everyone I’ve ever met, and even considered flying them to the Dominican Republic to do my wedding photos, they are really THAT good!” Maggie

“I used Studio Sequoia for my engagement photos (see previous review) and after my wedding in March, I can only recommend them even higher than before! My photos came out absolutely amazing, and I could not have asked for better people to work with.

Kelley and Kim are the essence of professionalism and take such pride in their work, and they want your pictures to be incredible. They work so hard to ensure quality service and excellence in all their photos, and I cannot thank them enough for the amazing photos I now have to document the most important day of my life!” Julie and Johnny
