We shoot a lot of weddings… I guess that would be obvious given that we’re wedding photographers. And weddings take on a lot of different costumes… there’s the glamourous wedding full of pomp and circumstance, there’s the kitchy wedding with tiny little finds everywhere… there’s the Martha Stewart wedding where everything came from a Martha Stewart magazine, book or website. The Destination wedding out on a glorious beach, bay or mountain range somewhere far from home…. There’s a lot of different types of weddings, each with their own story. Happy Thanksgiving Chrystall… | A Holiday Special Sneak Peek
I think I’ve known my husband maaaaaaaybe a month longer than I’ve know Chrystall… We’ve just always been friends, at least since I’ve known my husband. She’s a total jetsetter with a jet engine attached to her butt, I’ve never know anyone like her… she says, “I think I want to work in journalism…” BAM! Masters in journalism, works in the British Virgin Islands… But that’s just the one thing tired brain can think of right now, she does that ALL THE TIME! “I think I want to..” and get out of the way… I’ve always admired that about her…
A few weeks ago, via Facebook, she told me her dad was sick and asked me if I could come to her house on Thanksgiving to take some family photos for them… Chrystall, being my own personal feminine inspiration and someone I sorta, secretly, owe kind of a lot to (ssshhh don’t tell her;) I said “OF COURSE!” Especially knowing the circumstances for the photo shoot and that this was a good opportunity to donate some of my time this Thanksgiving…
And as a Christmas present because I wont be able to mail much off to “the B.V.I.,” I did them free of charge… but what I didn’t tell her, I plan on getting them all done and in her hand before she goes home on the 10th… that is, if I don’t die from editing overload…
It’s hard taking family photos with such a purpose… Seeing, in everyone’s eyes, that there is an alterier reason for my presence beyond simple family photos… I love these people, please remember that as you browse down, and think kind thoughts, say prayers, fast, light a candle, whatever you do to send lots of positive vibes their way… and never forget that miracles are possible…
